Our Beliefs

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.  He is the one true God who has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirt.  These three are coequal and are one God

Jesus is the Son of God.  Jesus joined together the deity of God and the humanity of man by being God in human flesh, truly God and truly man.  Jesus lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind by dying on the cross.  He arose again after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death.  He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to reign as King.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity.  The Spirit is co-equal with God the Father and God the Son.  The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus.  He indwells every Christian at the moment of their salvation and provides the believer with power for living and guidance in life.

The Bible is God’s Word to us.  It was written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It is the authoritative record of the revelation of God’s acts in creation, in history, in our salvation and in His Son Jesus Christ.

People are made in the image of God, to be like Him in character.  Mankind is the supreme object of God’s creation, created free to choose between good and evil, right and wrong.  By the sin of Adam, all unable by their own efforts, strength or work to restore themselves into a right relationship with God and to earn salvation.

Salvation is God’s free gift to us that must be accepted through faith.  Only by trusting Jesus Christ as God’s atonement for salvation can anyone be saved from the penalty of their sin.  We must turn from our life of sin and turn to Jesus in faith to be saved.  Eternal life begins the moment that someone receives Jesus Christ into their life by faith.

The Christian life should be a life of holiness.  Our will should be one with the will of our heavenly Father.  The Holy Spirit enables Christians to love God with all of their heart, soul, strength and mind, and their neighbor as themselves.

The Church is created by God and it is the people of God.  Christ Jesus is the Lord and Head of the Church; the Holy Spirit is its life and power.   The Holy Spirit is its life and power. It is both divine and human, heavenly and earthly, ideal and imperfect. It is an organism, not an unchanging institution. It exists to fulfill the purposes of God in Christ.
